The famed Bollywood actor Mithun Chakraborty joins BJP and finally dipped his foot back into politics this Sunday. He officially announced his decision to join the famous Brigade ground in Kolkata in the presence of the BJP national general secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya.
Kailash Vijayvargiya was attending the rally along with the president of the West Bengal unit of BJP Dinesh Trivedi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also addressed an election rally at Kolkata’s Brigade ground.
After A four Year Hiatus From Politics, Mithun Chakraborty Joins BJP
Chakraborty, a former TMC Rajya Sabha member, has been inactive in politics ever since he resigned from the parliament after being named in the Saradha chit fund controversy in December 2016.
The chances of Chakraborty joining BJP had been on the cards since last year after he was seen visiting the headquarters of RSS in Nagpur. The rumors soon turned into a possibility when the RSS head Mohan Bhagwat also paid a visit to Chakraborty in Mumbai.
Though we might not know the real reason behind Mithun Chakraborty’s decision to leave TMC and join the BJP. But we can be sure that the addition of Chakraborty into the BJP cadre will certainly give the unmatched boost in the upcoming West Bengal elections scheduled to be held in March.
PM Narendra Modi Will Build “Sonar Bangla”: Mithun Chakraborty BJP
While addressing the public at the rally, he asserted that the BJP is the only party in the state who is capable of fulfilling the dream of “Sonar Bangla”.
“ Some might call me selfish or an opportunist. But the reason why I left TMC and joined the BJP was to fulfill my lifelong dream of helping the poor and the needy people.”, the 70-year old actor added.
“The BJP will surely win the upcoming 2021 West Bengal Legislative Assembly election and will help the people build the Prime Minister’s dream of a “Sonar Bangla”, Mr. Chakraborty further elaborated.
