Suryakumar Yadav had garnered praise with his batting in the Indian Premier League (IPL) as well as in the domestic cricket leagues and therefore was selected for the Indian team for the five-match T20 series against England. Surya Kumar made his IPL debut for the Mumbai Indians for the 2012 season. In 2014, Yadav was bought by the Kolkata Knight Riders and in the following season, he made headlines with his exceptional strike-rate. His consistent good performances earned him the designation of KKR’s vice-captain and a regular feature in the playing XI. In 2018, he was bought back by the Mumbai Indians.
