The Maharashtra government decided on Tuesday that grocery and food shops in the state will be open from 7 am to 11 am till May 1. The government has taken this decision keeping in view the fast-growing cases of Coronavirus infection. The new restrictions will be effective from 8 am on Tuesday night to 7 am on May 1. The state has been witnessing more than 50,000 cases of infection every day for the last two weeks on average. Several other restrictions are already in effect under the state’s ‘Break the Chain’ program.
The new order has been given by the state’s Department of Disaster Management and Relief and Rehabilitation. According to the order, “Grocery, vegetable, fruit, dairy, bakery, confectionery, chicken, mutton, mother, fish egg, all kinds of food items, agricultural commodities shops, pet food shops, rain Weather stores will open from 7 am to 11 am.

It states that home delivery from such shops can be done from seven in the morning to eight in the night, but the local administration can change the time as required.
