Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has announced a six-day lockdown from 10 am on Monday night to 5 am on Monday, in view of the rapidly increasing cases of coronavirus and the burden on the health system due to them. Addressing an online press conference, Kejriwal said that the number of daily cases of Covid-19 has remained around 25,500 in the last few days in Delhi and the burden on the health system has increased a lot.

The Chief Minister said that the number of coronavirus patients is increasing in Delhi, there is a severe shortage of medicines, beds, ICU, oxygen, so there is a need for a lockdown to prevent the health system from collapsing. Kejriwal said that it was not easy to take the decision to impose a lockdown.
